Cookie Policy

What cookies Watford Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy uses, what each one is for, and how to change your mind.

Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. Some are needed to make the site work at all; others are only there because they help us, and those we never use unless you say yes.

Your choice

When you first visit you are asked what you are happy with. Nothing optional is loaded before you answer — no analytics, no advertising, nothing from Google or Facebook.

You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. Saying no later also clears the optional cookies already on this device.

Essential cookies — always on

These are needed for things you have asked for, such as signing in or paying, so they do not need your permission. Without them the site does not work.

Cookie What it does How long
wgjj_session Keeps you signed in as you move between pages Until you sign out
wgjj_consent Remembers your answer to this very question 6 months
Stripe (__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid) Set by Stripe when you pay, to spot fraudulent payments Up to 1 year

Analytics cookies — only if you agree

These tell us how many people visit, which pages they read and where they give up, so we can make the site better. They do not tell us who you are.

Set by What it does How long
Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) Counts visits and pages, tells new visitors from returning ones Up to 2 years

Advertising cookies — only if you agree

These let us see whether our ads actually bring people to the academy, and stop us paying to show them to people who have already joined.

Set by What it does How long
Meta / Facebook (_fbp, _fbc) Measures our Facebook and Instagram ads Up to 3 months
Google Ads (_gcl_*, DoubleClick) Measures our Google ads and avoids repeating them Up to 90 days

Turning cookies off in your browser

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies — look under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking everything will stop you signing in to your account or paying online, because those genuinely need a cookie to work.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. The analytics and advertising cookies above are set by Google and Meta, who act as their own data controllers for that information — their own policies apply, and you can read them on their websites.

Asking us

If you want to know what we hold about you, or want it deleted, write to us and we will sort it out. Our Privacy Policy explains your rights in full and how to contact us.
