Helping kids handle bullies the smart way. For Anti-Bullying Week (16-20 November) we are opening the academy on Saturday 21 November 2026 for free one-hour Gracie BullySafe seminars for children aged 5 to 14.
What your child will learn
- Verbal assertiveness - how to stand up to teasing and name-calling with confidence, without escalating it
- Confident body language - how to carry themselves so they are not picked as a target
- Gracie Jiu-Jitsu - how to stay safe and in control if a bully turns physical, using leverage and technique rather than strength
- Non-violent and responsible - the Gracie rules: avoid the fight if you can, never throw a punch, and know exactly what to do if it happens anyway
It is taught by our black belt instructors, it is hands-on and fun, and no experience is needed. Children wear comfortable clothes with no zips or buttons.

Each seminar takes 30 children. You do not pick a time: your child goes into the first session for their age group that still has room, and we email you the time straight away. Once a session is full, the next one opens.
It is free - but places are limited
Book your child's place here: watfordgjj.co.uk/anti-bullying - or scan the QR code on the flyer. The booking takes a minute: your details, your child's name and date of birth, and the risk waiver, which you sign with a finger. Brothers and sisters can be booked together.

Where
Watford Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy, Unit 2, 1A Garnett Close, Watford, WD24 7GL - the same building as Junction Motors. Please arrive 10 minutes early.
Parking: drive onto the forecourt; our five allocated spaces are on the left-hand side under the tree. You can also park across the road at Bob's Bits, opposite Flourish Bakery (after 5pm Mon-Fri; all day Sat and Sun), or along the unmarked side of Greycaine Road. Please avoid the Virgin Media spaces opposite the gym - they are private and carry a £100 fine.

Gracie BullySafe is the children's programme of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, built around one idea: a child who knows they can handle a bully does not need to be afraid of one - and a child who is not afraid rarely gets picked on.
